Billie Heath
Pottery that is individually created and uniquely built.

I was born during the 50's, to parents raised in the Great Depression.   Growing up during the 50's and 60's, if you didn't have it, you made it or did without.  My parents made alot.  Today they would be called artist's, back then they were just normal people trying to get by.   My life took the normal path for women of the time, I married, had children and worked to get by.  Along the way, I got a degree and have a career as a Software engineer.   When the last child left home, it was my time.

I enrolled at local community college in a Continuing Education pottery class.   Oh, what a pleasure!   I got dirty, had the greatest teacher and met the best people.     It was what I had been looking for all my life.  I just hadn't been smart enough to find it sooner!

Today, I continue to take classes at the community college.   This exposes me to various potters who are formally trained in Ceramics and potters who practice their craft outside the formal boundaries of the education arena.

Inspiration for my work is based on natural forms.   Walks in the woods, being on a lake,  wild flowers, a little bird watching and of course, traveling.   There is so much to see and do.

But at the end of the day, my pottery is the result of 'making do' through out my life.

Enjoy......
